From the tobacco store in Amsterdam city Rokin, the cigars are exported by STG to all stores in many countries.
P.G.C. Hajenius has been the 'old master' of Dutch cigar stores since 1826. Located at the Rokin in Amsterdam central of the city, most visitors are stunned after walking thru the entrance. Since 1914, the store has been housed in a stunning Art Déco building on the Amsterdam Rokin. These two milestones have led to P.G.C. Hajenius. P.G.C. Hajenius is a truly time-honoured Amsterdam establishment. It’s been the “grand seigneur” of Dutch cigar brands.
Most Hajenius cigars are hard to find and increasingly difficult to import.
One of the main problems are rules and regulations from the EU. Smokings is a big issue in many countries. Hypocrits who do not make any difference between smoking a cigarette, rolling tobacco or a handmade cigar. Legislation & National Prevention Agreement makes it difficult to get your prefferred cigars outside the store. Sadly, Hajenius' cigar lounge has also come to an end. Due to a change in the law and the National Prevention Agreement of the Ministry of Health, Hajenius Amsterdam had to close the beautiful unique and historic lounge as of January 1, 2020. This makes it difficult for all connoisseurs among us.
Almost all cigars from the P.G.C. Hajenius brand itself, are made from Sumatra, Java, Vorstenlanden tobacco with divers wrappers. The most delicate Sumatra sandleaf, shade tobacco's and a mix of 21 different tobacco used for the filler made the cigar complete. Welknown as "Dry Cured Tobacco leaf". Most of the Premium brands are made this way.
